Can’t get this song out of my head

Does anyone remember this music? I never imagined I’d be singing it to my wife to distract her from screaming labour pain…

The Simon Eye

NEW:

Daily pics are back!

The cam site page needs to be customized, but for now it just does what it needs to … show a picture! A big thanks to Elizabeth in TO for being the Simon Eye tester!

Simon Tenzin Fraser Hickox was born Tuesday, June 15 at 3:38 p.m. Ottawa time. His arrival was greatly anticipated and nearly two weeks late. He is a big guy, weighing in at a whopping 9 lb 7 oz. (Jasper, born at 1 lb 13 oz, was nearly 8 months old when he broke the 9 lb mark!). We were attended for the labour by two very talented midwives, and by Suzy’s very loving and supportive sister, JD.

Suzy is fine. Labour was long and difficult (about 15 hours), and she came through it well but with some stitches. Like his father, Simon has a very big head. In fact, it’s the size usually seen on a six-week-old baby. Ouch!

The little family, sans Jasper who is waiting patiently at home with Grandma Freda, stayed in the hospital overnight and had a grand time being pampered by the nurses. Simon is already breastfeeding nicely, and although he is working on his singing voice, he loves a good cuddle. And who doesn’t?!

Photos coming soon! We’ve set up the JasperCam, now called The Simon Eye, so you can keep yours on our new little son. Watch for the first pics Friday.

Simon’s all squishy and snurfly and cute. And Suzy is delighted — everyone (including me) agrees he looks like his mom.

Love and thoughts and thanks to all. We will be in touch again soon.
